Jackie’s company is remodeling, which means there’s a ton of slightly used office chairs ‘for sale’ at her office (“sale” = “give us 20 bucks and please take as much as you can”). Thus, I have big padded office chair now, even bigger and more padded than my original, which is now downstairs at the game table waiting for Friday night.
Also, the cooling temperatures finally gave us an idea for something we could spend some anniversary-gift-money on — a heating pad.
Not a blanket (which can slide off in the night or just generally suck), a pad — it goes onto the mattress underneath the fitted sheet. Of course, Jackie had to get the granddaddy of all devices, so this guy has two separate heating controls, one for each of us, which is a pretty good idea, considering how much we disagree on issues of personal temperature.
Essentially, you just put it on high for about 2 minutes to warm the sheets up, and hop it, works like a charm. Very cozy. (It’s not a ‘tickler’ with a couple double-D batteries in it, but it’s the raciest thing I’ve got. Sorry Lori.)
