So I got this job notice thing from techies.com about an opportunity in the area. Here’s a few highlights:
Manager will: Implement, document, and evangelize process improvements. (emphasis mine)
What an odd way to use that phrase, but it’s probably the most accurate description of what you need to do as a product manager: hype the crap out of every proposed change and get the engineers behind it.
Unfortunately, that interesting phrasing was completely counteracted by this:
What you need to know: Our client is delivering innovative and collaborative solutions [snip] and they are moving mega fast to maintain their leadership position. (emphasis, again, mine)
Mega fast.
Mega. Fast.
I know the agency pushing the job search wrote that, and that the company they represent did not, so it’s not entirely the company’s fault, except they consciously retained the service of these… ‘bozos’ is the only phrase that I can grasp.
Mega fast. How does that crap make it off their desktop and onto a public website?
The Boy (as I read the job description aloud this morning): “Mega fast? That’s kinda dumb. Is it about a comic book or something?”
From the mouths of babes.
