Silly phrase. Days go by all the time. My last two days, for instance, which were rumored to be part of the weekend, flew by so fast I hardly noticed. Here’s a few highlights.

Friday night (part of the weekend, as far as I’m concerned), was the Star Wars game. I’m going to write about that, but probably not on this page. You can read a little joke that came out of that game over here, though.

Saturday morning involved rain and golf - essentially in that order, though they sometimes overlapped. I didn’t golf a lot, and the golfing I did do wasn’t good. Also, at the time, I was feeling a bit ill, hungry, distracted, and irritated with some errands that morning that had gone poorly.

Saturday evening was supper at the Consortium and visiting with the Hill parents. It’s really great to see our friends’ families when they come to town, and even better that they enjoy seeing us. This is mostly some sort of placebo, since neither Jackie or my parents can visit very often — this would really bother me if I let myself stop to think about it, but I know it’s not their fault, so I can’t let it bother me, so I don’t stop to think about it. There. See? Not thinking about it at all. Anyway, that was a good time. Also, Dave’s dad likes my dog, and I like people that like my dog.

I planted Jackie’s new rose bush on Sunday morning (also rearranged the flower bed it now lives in and got some really expensive ideas for things to do with the front yard next year). I didn’t mention it before, but last week I got Jackie a miniature rose bush for her desk at work in the same color as her new rosebush at home. Work’s really bothering her right now, so I thought it would be nice to have a reminder of the good things happening at home. It has a neat pot (the little one at work, that is).

The rest of the day should have been a long bout of football watching, but none of the games being broadcast had any people in them that I care very much about. It was very cool to see the Raiders come from WAY behind and beat KC, but other than that, nothing worth seeing. I’m a pretty big Tampa Bay and Colts fan, and their games almost never play in Denver. The Broncos don’t play til Monday night. My fantasy football score looks good: I’ll probably win this week, which means 8 bucks I get back from my initial investment. Jackie will probably win in her league, too. I:00 AM somewhat less than surprised by this news.

Sounds like it was a busy weekend, but what I really did was watch Babylon 5 tapes. I’m on Season Three, and thank god I don’t have Season Four at hand or I’d still be downstairs watching. I’ve gone through all the season’s episodes in the last 4 days, and my head is swimming. I’ve never seen Bab 5 before and the show is just awesome. I have more to say about this, but my eyes are too fatigued to keep looking at CRT screens.

I have to spend the workday tomorrow doing onsite training at our first Beta installation for the new software. I’m told the User’s Manuals for the system will be very nice: I hope to actually see one tomorrow morning. With luck, I’ll be able to skim it before teaching it to the user’s group. What a mess.

I’d like to provide some new links up here, but while I’ve been recieving lots of cool mail, I’ve yet to read most of it, because I’ve been in the basement with Ivanova, Sheridan, and Girabaldi. Sorry for the dearth of posts this weekend, it’s all Dave’s fault, so go read him today, and I’ll have more for you later — I’ll be writing up a bunch of stuff while I’m at the site, in between training sessions.
